Outreach to the Public: Part One Overview

The public is unfamiliar with licensing boards or confused about what they do and how they differ from professional associations. Most boards struggle to develop or maintain an effective program for consumer outreach and education. In one state Colorado - the legislature actually mandated and outreach program to familiarize residents with the work of regulatory boards. Increasingly, boards use their Web sites for outreach to consumers as well as the licensee population.

At this Webinar, a speaker from Colorado discussed the nature and accomplishments of the mandated outreach program in that State, and a consumer advocate talked about how boards can design a consumer-friendly Website.
