The movement to lower professional standards for physicians and other health care providers continues to grow. Bills have been introduced in some state legislatures undermining Maintenance of Certification requirements, and in some states, laws have already been enacted. At CLEARs 2016 Annual Educational Conference in Portland, Oregon, speakers representing citizen groups and professional organizations spoke about these legislative impacts and announced the creation of a Right to Safe Care Coalition whose mission is to educate stakeholders about the importance of rigorous lifelong learning programs now in place or under consideration by health licensing boards and national certification entities, as well as hospitals and other health delivery systems. At this webinar, three speakers will bring listeners up to date on these legislative initiatives and on the work of the Right to Safe Care Coalition.
